In times of great stress or after consistent bad dietary choices, the body builds up a reservoir of toxic metabolites (products of metabolic reactions). These metabolites can cause tissue damage and inflammation which lead to a variety of health defects. Lee Haney Nutrition 7 Day Detox is a dietary supplement which contains ingredients that are designed to redistribute or eliminate these metabolites. In this review, we assess the overall ability of the product as a detox supplement.

Ingredients

One of the ingredients which sticks out about this product is the bentonite clay. Bentonite clay has been shown scientifically to enhance the effect of certain enzymes like aspartate transaminase, gamma-glutamyl transferase and alkaline phosphatase. The first two enzymes are majorly involved with enhancing protein breakdown for energy and the final enzyme is involved in compound detoxification.

This supplement contains a variety of antioxidants. Antioxidants remove toxic chemicals known as free radicals from the body. Free radicals cause major cellular damage and inflammation otherwise. Antioxidants present in the supplement are in the form of flaxseed oil, oat bran and black walnut hull. A variety of omega acids have been included to mitigate the inflammation and cell damage caused by free radicals.

There are also a number of ingredients which act locally in the intestine. Psyllium husks, apple pectin, barley powder and glucomannan add bulk to stool and absorb toxic chemicals. Senna leaves, prune powder, Cascara Sagrada and Aloe extracts have mild laxative effects. These combined effects help to cleanse the colon. Cayenne extract is also added to increase circulation to the intestine and L. acidophilus is present to control the balance of bacteria in the gut.

Dosage

In one box of Lee Haney Nutrition 7 Day Detox, there are two kinds of packets – a clear one and a white one. Each must be taken with 8 ounces of water before breakfast and before dinner. In other words, two white packets and to clear packets are taken per day.

Possible Side Effects

Not all of the ingredients have been tested for the safety on pregnant and breastfeeding women or people with chronic medical conditions. Consult a physician before use if in any of the above categories. The supplement may cause loose stools. Although the manufacturer does not specify, research has determined that Cascara Sagrada extract can cause liver damage.

Price

One box of 28 packets (which should last seven days) can be purchased online for $39.99. This price does not include shipping or taxes.

Guarantee & Feedback

There does not appear to be any returns policy for this product. Therefore customers may not receive a refund if they are unhappy with the product or its results.

There are also no customer feedback reviews for this product. These facts point to a lack of confidence by the manufacturer in their own product. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the product is not independently verified.

Our Conclusive Review About Lee Haney Nutrition 7 Day Detox

The price of the supplement is fairly reasonable and some of the ingredients are well chosen. There are also some ingredients present which are dangerous to the user’s health. We can only attribute this to poor research. We believe there are better designed products on the market for detox purposes.
