The review below examines the dietary supplement product Omega 3 Supplements, by the manufacturer Perricone MD: The manufacturer claims that this supplement assists by regulating weight, thereby ensuring a healthy metabolic system, and supporting cardiovascular health. In addition, this product is claimed to hydrate dry skin from within.

Ingredients

This supplement contains wild Alaskan salmon oil (3000 mg), eicosapentaenoic acid (255 mg), docosahexaenoic acid (270 mg), including fish gelatin, glycerin, purified water, and natural lemon flavor. Three (3) capsules deliver those quantities. This formula is free from wheat, soy, synthetic colors, synthetic flavors, dyes and sugar substitutes.

The health benefits of eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid are well recorded for heart health, healthy brain function, maintaining a healthy skin, controlling depression, and for weight management. However, according to scientific studies, for the quantities of these substances to be effective there should be 800 mg of eicosapentaenoic acid and 600mg of docosahexaenoic acid. However, this formula does not provide even half of these quantities.

Dosage

The recommended dosage from the manufacturer is to take one (1) to three (3) capsules, three (3) times daily, with meals. To maintain their weight, one (1) capsule should be taken three (3) times a day with meals. For weight loss, three (3) capsules, should be taken three (3) times daily, with meals. However, Omega-3, although offering many health benefits, should not exceed 3000 mg as a daily dose. Three capsules already provide 3000 mg taking more than three capsules may be harmful, especially if hemp, salmon, or other natural sources of Omega-3 are consumed: an overdose could result.

Price

Omega 3 Supplements is available online directly from the manufacturer. A 30-day supply (or one bottle) costs $42.00, excluding shipping fee. No discounts are offered. If consumers subscribe to the company’s auto-delivery program, they will receive 10% off each order, together with free shipping and a free sample. These are available at various monthly intervals; however, the consumer will be locked in, and the credit card will be deducted at those chosen intervals. (This type of program is normally difficult to cancel).

Guarantee & Feedback

The manufacturer offers a satisfaction guarantee. All returns should be made within 30 days of purchase, and issues with the product reported within two weeks of purchase, to qualify for a refund. However, the company states that refunds will be made to the credit card only; other payment methods will receive a replacement product.

The reviews on the company’s website are highly positive about this product. However, our research concluded that of the 38 reviews on Amazon, only 78.4% are reliable. There was also deception involved: as such, these reviews are classified as of low quality.

Our Conclusive Review Of Omega 3 Supplements

Omega 3 Supplements appears to have good aspects, such as the satisfaction guarantee, and that the dosage instructions are easy to grasp. However, there are also some concerns with this product. There is no money-back guarantee. Funds will only be returned if the payment was made via a credit card transaction: on other payment methods the product will simply be replaced. Also, the reviews on the product are a concern: a large number of the reviews on Amazon are unreliable. Reviews are useful to gauge the benefits or negatives of a product; however deceptive reviews cause doubt. Lastly, the formula is weak, as the levels of eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid are well below the level of effectiveness recommended by research studies.
